I have finished Leda’s path in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave and It took me 57 hours!

And to be frank: Leda is easily one of the most awesome characters I have ever encountered in a game.

Leda is frightening, funny, affectionate, cruel, cunning and unbearably sad. She is consumed by vengeance, but never reduced to it. The game has complete confidence in her character. It allows her to be genuinely dangerous and make decisions that are uncomfortable and downright cruel.

And I love her for everything she is.

Mariya Ise’s Japanese performance elevates her even further. Leda can move effortlessly between playful enthusiasm, commanding authority, bloodthirsty determination and profound grief. Every side of her feels real. Every scene became exciting simply because I wanted to hear what she would say next.

After 57 hours, Part One reached an immensely powerful conclusion. I will not explain what happened. Her magnificence needs to be experienced.

I cried. It was beautiful.

If the credits had rolled at that moment and Fortune’s Weave had ended, I would already be completely satisfied with my purchase. Leda’s Part One alone felt like an entire RPG.

But this was only Part One. Of one out of four paths.

Leda’s story was meaningful to her. It was meaningful to me too. And I can’t wait to experience the rest of the game.
